I am a contemporary mixed-media artist creating abstract landscape paintings inspired by the coastal environments of Maine and California. My work explores how natural systems—tides, wind, erosion, and light—shape both the land and our experience of it.

My process is rooted in layering and excavation. I work with acrylic texture, oil, cold wax, ink, and collage, incorporating natural pigments and hand-painted papers made from upcycled materials. Surfaces are built slowly and then carved back into, revealing earlier marks and embedded histories. This process reflects the landscapes that inspire me—constantly shifting, shaped over time by visible and unseen forces.

The paintings exist between abstraction and representation. They are not literal depictions, but atmospheric, semi-abstract landscapes that evoke a sense of place. I am interested in the tension between structure and unpredictability—where control gives way to organic movement, and composition emerges through process.

Sustainability is central to my practice. By using reclaimed and repurposed materials, I approach each painting as a layered record of transformation. Every surface carries traces of what came before, reinforcing the idea that landscapes—and materials—are continuously evolving.

Through these textured abstract landscape paintings, I aim to create work that feels immersive and grounded in nature, while inviting reflection on our connection to the environments we inhabit.

Original paintings are available through my website and select galleries. Contact me to inquire about purchasing artwork or discussing a commissioned painting.
